Fishing Tournament

fishing tournament, and a select few would like nothing more than making a
career out of entering bass fishing tournament after bass
fishing tournament. Whether you want to fish for bass professionally or enter a
local bass fishing tournament with your son, follow these tips and you will have
a great day on the water.
Wear The Right Clothes
When you enter a bass fishing tournament,
you will spend all day on a small boat and you need to dress accordingly. You
need to prepare for the cold early morning hours as well as for the hot
afternoon. The best way to dress for a bass fishing tournament is in layers.
Make sure that every layer you wear is easy to take off in the confines of a
small boat.
Wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to move in. You might think that your
lucky shirt will help you win, but if it has been washed to the point that its
shrunken fibers cling to your back, it could affect your ability to make the
perfect cast. Wearing clothes that are too constricting or too heavy can make
for a long and unsatisfying day on the water.
Planning Makes For Fun
When you enter a bass fishing tournament, you can get so caught up in planning
what to pack in order to catch fish that you can forget to plan for taking care
of your needs. Make sure you pack easy to carry snacks, a small first aid kit,
and protection from the sun. Always carry more sun screen than you think you
will need and apply it and reapply it every hour you are on the water. The lake
acts as one big reflector of the sun and even an overcast day can end with a bad
sunburn. You should wear a hat to protect the top of your head as well as your
face and always wear sunglasses to protect your eyes. The UV rays of the sun can
be very damaging to your eyes.
If You Need One You Need Two
There is nothing worse than getting into the middle of the day and realizing
that you don’t have the lure you need. Always pack two of every lure that you
plan to use. This will save you a lot of heartache if you lose a lure or find
that you need a different type of lure for the conditions you are fishing in.
